Community Outreach

We are building a sustainable health system to improve the lives of the people and communities we serve for generations to come. We are dedicated to creating a health system that is proactive—working to keep people healthy with innovative methods and models of care that provide value-based high-quality care.

We take this dedication to the communities we serve: We are committed to supporting organizations in the community that are working to make our population healthier through investments in community organizations and initiatives that advance community health priorities.

Community programs we support

Community Health

We partner with public health organizations, town leaders, schools, police, and community organizations to improve the health of people living in the communities we serve. Together, we complete Community Health Needs Assessments every 3 years, then work together with these partners to change the behaviors and community conditions that have the greatest impact on health. Health Policy

Health care reform is an active topic in both state and federal governments. We believe our staff, physicians, volunteers, and the public in general need to stay abreast of the trends that could affect our health care system and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Clinics as this reform process unfolds. Project Medical Education

Project Medical Education (PME) at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is an interactive 1 1/2-day program designed to educate policy makers and leaders about the role of a teaching hospital. Our goal is to enhance participants' understanding of the complex system of medical education and the mission of a teaching hospital in training health care providers, conducting research, providing patient care, and meeting the needs of underserved populations.
